Wednesday 14th November, 5pm
We have arrived at Kingswood and children have unpacked and even made their beds (good teamwork needed!). Under a beautiful sunset sky, we played some games. The photos show our groups working to try and make the longest unbroken line. Now we're off for our first activity: Nightline, then it's dinner. More later.
Wednesday 14th November, 10pm
Dinner was roast gammon, Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, or beef teriyaki, or mushroom pie...followed by cocoa waffles and custard! Yum! After dinner, everyone went on a fantastic night hike to Sheringham, returning to hot chocolate and a biscuit before bed. Everyone is now in their rooms and settling down for sleep! Impressively, some children have volunteered for a cross country run before breakfast along the Norfolk Coast Path...see you at 0715?
Thursday 15th November, 6:30am
Good morning! We're pleased to say that everyone had a quiet night last night, and settled to bed very quickly. The sun is not yet up, but the first stirrings of life from the children's rooms are floating down the corridor as the excitement grows for the adventures that lie ahead today!
Thursday 15th November, 2pm
We've just had lunch (burger, potato wedges, quorn tacos, fruit). This morning the children have been amazing: they have shown amazing teamwork skills on the team challenge, incredible self-confidence on the go-karting, and strong resilience on the abseiling and zip wire. Everyone is having a great time!
Thursday 15th November, 8pm
It's movie night, so while the children relax and enjoy School of Rock, you can see some more photos from this afternoon. A LOT of fun was had fencing and in laser quest (including the staff!). After dinner and room inspection, the children thought of a few words to talk about their day.
Friday 16th November, 7:15am
It's our final day! Once again, everyone was brilliant last night. The full day clearly wore everyone out, and we've had to wake a few up this morning. Time to strip the beds and start packing! Two activities before we come back home and see you: side by side and Jacob's Ladder. We've had a wonderful time but we're looking forward to seeing you again.
Friday 16th November, 12pm
So the final activities are over and it's time for lunch before we depart at 1pm. Here are a few photos from this morning.
Friday 16th November, 12:10pm
So it's goodbye from Kingswood and we'll see you soon. Everyone has been superb - just as you would expect them to be and they have done you proud! Not only have children taken part in fantastic adventurous activities, but what's really amazing is how they have developed their personal skills. Kingswood have ten learning outcomes, and each activity focuses on improving children's ability in them. Children have made the most of these learning opportunities, and taken a huge step forward in these life character skills. There's so much we can build on from the last three days, and a golden opportunity for us all to work together to help prepare these wonderful young people for the next stage of life.
